The World among Us: Prince of Darkness by Beth Ann Masarik

The World Among Us (Prince of Darkness, #1)The World Among Us by Beth Ann Masarik

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The World among Us at first glance seems to be seeped in mythology and urban fantasy. There is the entire gamut of Greek Gods here, right from Gaia going all the way ‘down’ to Hades. They all play their traditional roles as well. Besides the horde of Greek Gods, there are the usual urban fantasy characters consisting of werewolves, vampires and wizards. When such a cast of characters is assembled, it is obvious that a war will be brewing and who better than Hades, the God of the underworld to start it in his attempts to take over and rule the world?

Interview with author Jess Mountifield

Describe your books. What genre would you classify them into?

My first published novel, With Proud Humility is a Historical adventure with romance. I originally put this book in historical romance but most people feel it’s more adventure, it just has a romance. It’s set in the Caribbean in the early 1800’s and is a proper swashbuckler.

I’ve also recently had a young adult fantasy collection of shorts published, Innocent Hearts, which contains two short stories I wrote a while ago. They went down very well with people who read them so I had them polished up and put into ebook format.

My second novel, another historical adventure, Chains of Freedom, is due to be published shortly and is set in a Maori village.

Sherdan’s Prophecy is my third novel and is sci-fi. It’s set about five years in the future. It’s a cross between X-Men and V for Vendetta.
