Charlotte E English as ‘Featured Author’ for an entire week!

Some of you may already know how much I love Charlotte’s Draykon Series. I have previously reviewed both books in the series so far, and and given each book a well-deserved 5 star rating. So, I had to have Charlotte as a featured author when her third and final book in the series is about to come out.

For those who still don’t know what I am talking about, check out my reviews of Charlotte’s first two books in the Draykon Series:

  • Draykon (Draykon #1): … I really liked the story-telling style of the author and the two different story-arcs run smoothly along till almost then end when they collide magnificently and culminate in a crescendo. Now, all I can do is wait for the next instalment in the story.
  • Lokant (Draykon #2): … it becomes absolutely clear that a war will be coming soon. The resurrection of Drakons and their proclamation of war is where this book ends. I am waiting to see what role each character will have to play in the coming war. In the end, all I have to ask you is, “Are you ready for the battle?”

And, I just got an ARC of the third and final book in the series and I can’t wait to share the review with everyone! But, it’ll have to wait till the third day in the week.

As usual, I do have something very special for you guys! Charlotte has agreed to giveaway 2 sets of her entire series to lucky winners! That is right. Two people could be the proud owners of the entire series! I don’t think I have ever hosted a better giveaway (and, I have hosted quite a few till date). Also, this does not mean that others get left out. Charlotte is also giving away 3 ebooks of every book in her series. So, there is something for everyone here!

It is very easy to enter the giveaway. All you have to do is visit the page linked below and follow the simple instructions. Remember to let me know if you have read any of Charlotte’s books previously.

Interview with Nicole Storey, author of The Chosen One (Grimsley Hollow Series)

Describe your series? What genre would you classify it into?

My book is about an 11-year-old boy who has autism.  He has no friends until he meets a young witch named Eve and she introduces him to another world called Grimsley Hollow.  He is needed to help the magical beings of this world defeat an evil witch who is trying to take over.  Along the way, he makes some new friends, including an ornery pixy, a werewolf, and a vampire.  I describe my books as middle-grade fantasy with a touch of paranormal and a whole lot of Halloween!

How did you come up with the idea for the series?

I simply combined some of my favourite things that I love and am passionate about: special-needs children, Halloween, and magic.  My son has autism and he is also the main character in the story.  I decided to write the book to get a message out to children: Special-needs kids are not so different from them in the fact that they only want to be accepted for who they are and included in our lives.

My journey as an Author by Nicole Storey

.
Hello!  My name is Nicole Storey and I am the author of Grimsley Hollow-The Chosen One.  This is the first book in, what I hope will be, the Grimsley Hollow series.  I live in Georgia with my husband, two amazing children, my cat (who thinks she’s a tiger), and a bunch of goldfish.

Unlike some, I didn’t want to be a writer when I grew up.  I have always loved writing stories and reading books, but my dream was to become a marine biologist.  I wanted to live on the beach somewhere and swim with dolphins, whales, and sharks.  I wanted to preserve our beautiful oceans and sea-life.  When I was little, I believed there was an under-water city somewhere occupied by mermaids and one day, they would make me and honorary member of their family.  Yeah, I’ve always had a big imagination, so if anyone asks where my kids got their’s from, now you know.  That is probably the one aspect of my children’s personalities that can’t be blamed on my husband.  :-)

Eye Candy by Terra Harmony

In this day and age, when we have thousands upon thousands of reading options at our fingertips, the book cover is often the one and only chance to grab the reader’s attention.  The cover makes the first impression and the book is judged before even getting a chance to present its blurb.  This is especially true with e-books.

When e-readers became popular, many had trouble with the idea of replacing their beloved books with a tiny computer.  How could we possibly forego the smell of a freshly printed book – or even the smell of an old, dusty book pulled from the back of the shelf?  How could we give up the way it feels in our hands, the way it crinkles as we turn the page, or the way it bends exactly to our hands’ size?  Furthermore, what in the heck will we do with our favorite bookmarks?
